Neema Akoth Owando, an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, is a Senior Associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department and specialises in
Mediation, Arbitration, Litigation and General Court Practice.
She has advised clients on all matters that require court attendance through robust legal opinions, Demand Letters and actual litigation work.
Ms. Owando holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Moi University in Kenya and a post-graduate diploma in Law from the Kenya
School of Law among other expertise.
EXPERIENCE
① Part of the team that represented the County Governement of Kisumu in a Medical Negligence Claim against its staff at a Hospital, the County Attorney among others and successfully
saved the County from a claim of close to Ksh.30 Million (USD233,000.00)
② Part of the team that represented clients on various disputes relating to historical injustices, administrative flaws and criminal claims among others;
③ Redrafted the County Solid Waste Management Bill for one of the Counties in Kenya;
④ Drafted Policies, Rules and Regulations for major corporations and Non Governement Organizations in Kenya and beyond;
⑤ Represented clients in a number of personal injury claims;
⑥ Part of the team that represented clients in Custody & Maintenance Claims, Divorce & Separation matters, Successions & Estate Planning among others;
