Stan Collins Otieno is currently serving as a Legal Assistant on Externship at Akiro & Associates Advocates where he is actively engaged in supporting the legal team while pursuing his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree at Daystar University. As part of his experiential learning, he is placed under the close supervision and mentorship of a qualified Advocate, from whom he continues to gain practical insight into the legal profession. His daily responsibilities include conducting legal research, organizing court documents, compiling authorities and assisting in the preparation of pleadings and contracts. He also plays a vital role in maintaining case files, attending court sessions for observation, and ensuring that court diaries, deadlines, and filings are accurately tracked and updated. His contribution extends to assisting in client interviews, taking notes during consultations and preparing summaries that inform legal strategies. Mr. Otieno exhibits strong interest in litigation, conveyancing, and legal compliance, and has shown a keen ability to grasp procedural requirements and statutory timelines. His time at the firm is not only sharpening his theoretical understanding of the law but also equipping him with practical competencies such as attention to detail, professional responsibility, and confidentiality.
